Rafting in Pai

DAY 1 CHIANG MAI - PAI
In the morning pick up from the hotel, airport or railway station in Chiang Mai. Then leave the city with private car and driver in northern direction. On route chance to stop at an orchid farm and later at a local countryside market. Then continue towards Pai on some steep and winding roads along nice mountain scenery. On route you have the chance for some other short side trips, for example to the hot springs of Pong Deut (possible to take a bath) or take a walk at Pai Canyon. Arrive in Pai and check in at the resort. In the evening take a stroll over the night market, better known as walking street. Overnight in Pai.
DAY 2 PAI - RAFTING B/L/D
After breakfast you are picked up from the resort. Transfer by pick up truck to the starting point of the rafting at the Pai River. First briefing on navigation and security. Get your rafting equipment (helmet and life jacket). Then paddle straight in to the lush of the jungle. Later passing a gorge with various rapids. Enjoy the picnic lunch on route and another stop at a small waterfall. Finally arrive the camp site by late afternoon. Time to swim or relax. Later a delicious Thai dinner cooked by the tour guides will be served. Overnight at the river camp in harmony with the nature and sleep in a simple bamboo hut with sleeping bag and mosquito nets.
DAY 3 RAFTING - MAE HONG SON - PAI B/L
After a filling breakfast leave the camp and continue rafting. First reach the Khong River Junction and stop at some hot springs. Picnic lunch on route. Enjoy paddle or swim through the Pai Gorges with some more tricky rapids. In the early afternoon arrive in Mae Hong Son. Here take a shower and get your main luggage. Take a quick visit to the picturesque Wat Jong Klang at the city lake. Then drive back to Pai with by pick up truck and arrive there early evening. Overnight.
DAY 4 PAI - CHIANG MAI B
Time at leisure until your departure. Then you will board the minibus for your transfer back to Chiang Mai. This journey will take approx. 3 hours incl. a coffee break at a small village on route. After arrival in Chiang Mai transfer yourself by taxi to the booked hotel, airport or railway station, depends on your further schedule. End of the tour.
REMARKS/FLEXIBILITY:
- It is possible to finish this package after the rafting in Mae Hong Son. Accommodation in Mae Hong Son, as well as the short flight back from Mae Hong Son to Chiang Mai can be booked with us.
- On the 1st day you can also book just a joint minibus transfer from Chiang Mai to Pai (no sightseeing on route).
- From February until June due to low water level in the river this rafting tour is not possible.
- Accommodation in Chiang Mai before and/or after this package can be booked with us, as well as additional nights in Pai.
- During the cool season (November to February) we recommend to bring a long sleeves sweater or a jacket. Also a mosquito repellent and a torch can be very useful.

All excursions and transfers as mentioned in the itinerary, English speaking tour guide, accommodation for 2 nights at a middle class resort in Pai and 1 night at the very basic river camp incl. daily breakfast, all other meals as per program (L = lunch, D = dinner)
