DAY 1 HO CHI MINH CITY (SAIGON)
On arrival you are welcomed by the representative of our local partner agency followed by transfer to the hotel in the city center. Day at leisure and get some first impressions from this bustling city. Overnight in Ho Chi Minh City (Saigon).
DAY 2 HO CHI MINH CITY (SAIGON) B/L
After breakfast you will be picked up by our local tour guide and driver. Take a discovery tour through the bustling city. You will visit the Reunification Palace, the Notre Dame Cathedral and the History Museum (here get an overview about Vietnam's 4000 years old history) combined with some short walks around the center of the city. Overnight in Ho Chi Minh City (Saigon).
DAY 3 HO CHI MINH CITY (SAIGON) - XEP CANAL - CAN THO B/L
After breakfast start the tour to the south and about two hours later arrive in My Tho. Embark the boat and take a trip downriver on the Tien River passing some river islands. Disembark at Xep Canal. From here go on by ox cart or Xe Loy (a fun local transportation). You will curving over tiny canals along small villages and gardens. You will stop at one of them and taste some of the tropical fruits. Get on a rowing boat at a small canal passing beautiful water coconut palm trees. Stop at a local workshop, where you can learn how to make coconut candies and taste some with the local family. Continue on the road to Can Tho, the capital of the Mekong Delta and spend the night here.
DAY 4 CAN THO - HO CHI MINH CITY (SAIGON) B/L
In the morning head for the Ninh Kieu wharf and take another boat trip, this time to the Cai Rang Floating Market, where local people trade all kind of goods from the Mekong Delta area. Later see another inland market and a rice processing factory. Finally visit Binh Thuy Ancient House before driving back to Saigon. Lunch break will be at a local restaurant on route. Reach Saigon in the afternoon. There is some time left for shopping etc. in the southern capital. Spend another night in Ho Chi Minh City (Saigon).
DAY 5 HO CHI MINH CITY (SAIGON) B
Time at leisure until transfer to the airport and continue your journey.....or extend your stay in Saigon, depend on your further schedule.
REMARKS/FLEXIBILITY:
- Except for some nationalities (please check with us!) who can enter Vietnam without visa for a maximum stay of 15 days, you have to get your visa for Vietnam in advance! Please contact your nearest Vietnamese embassy or consulate for it. With "a letter of approval for visa on arrival" we still can also arrange the visa on arrival. If you wish to do so, please let us know at the time of booking! - Instead driving back to Saigon on the 4th day it is also possible to travel to Phnom Penh (Cambodia) incl. one night on route in Chau Doc.
- Additional nights in Ho Chi Minh City (Saigon) before/after this tour package, resp. at the Mekong Delta during the tour package can be booked with us
