DAY 1 SIEM REAP - PHNOM PENH L

In the morning pick up from the hotel in Siem Reap. Before you leave the city take a quick look in to a wood- and stone carving center. Then heading towards Kampong Thom. On route you do a brief stop at the ancient Kampong Kdei Bridge. In Kampong Cham visit Wat Bayon with its large reclining Buddha statue and then take a stroll over the local market. Another brief stop is possible at the spider market in Sukon, where "special kind of fried snacks" are offered. Finally arrive in the Cambodian capital Phnom Penh. There is some time left to relax or go for a walk in the bustling city to get some first impressions of the Cambodian capital. Overnight in Phnom Penh.

DAY 2 PHNOM PENH - CHAU DOC B/L

After breakfast pick up from the hotel. Then start for a half day city tour in the capital which does include some major highlights like the King Palace or Wat Phnom. After lunch transfer to the pier. Here board the comfortable speed boat and start your trip down the Mekong River. The boat will then stop at the Cambodia/Vietnam border. Here do your passport formalities at the Cambodia- and Vietnam immigration. Later continue the cruise down the river until you reach the city of Chau Doc. Short transfer to the hotel and spend the night here in Chau Doc.

DAY 3 CHAU DOC - CAN THO B/L

After breakfast pick up from the hotel. Take a boat on the Mekong and first visit one of the many traditional fish farms. Go on to visit a village of the Cham people, an ethnic group living here in the Mekong Delta and well known for their skills in weaving. Later drive on to the Tra Su Bird Sanctuary, a famous eco-tourism site with lush mangrove forest. Take another boat trip in to the middle of the forest to observe birds like Stork, Heron, Kingfisher, Waterhen etc. From a 23 m high observation tower you get great views over the sanctuary. Return to Chau Doc. In the afternoon drive to Can Tho. There you visit the famous and ancient Binh Thuy House. Spend the night in Can Tho.

DAY 4 CAN THO - HO CHI MINH CITY (SAIGON) B/L

In the morning first transfer to Ninh Kieu warf and start a boat trip to the Cai Rang floating market, where people whole sale all kind of goods from the Mekong Delta. A great chance to watch the daily activities here in the delta. Back to the warf and transfer to Vinh Long. Here board the Mekong Queen at one of the small branches of the Mekong to drive along tiny canals, past fruit gardens and sleepy villages. Enjoy a traditional local lunch. Here in the area you also got the chance to visit a local brick factory. Later in the afternoon drive to Ho Chi Minh City (Saigon) and spend the night here.

DAY 5 HO CHI MINH CITY (SAIGON) B

Time at leisure until transfer to the airport...or extend your stay, depends on your further schedule.

REMARKS/FLEXIBILITY:

• Visa for Cambodia available on arrival in Siem Reap against a fee of US$ 30.- (bring passport pictures with you!).
• Visa for Vietnam you must get in advance at a Vietnamese embassy or consulate, except for a few nationalities who can enter Vietnam without visa if stay not longer than 15 days (please check with us!). • This tour can be done vice versa with start in Ho Chi Minh City (Vietnam) and end in Siem Reap (Cambodia).
