River Kwai & Death Railway #BKK-406
An exciting day tour to Kanchanaburi Province west of Bangkok. The focus is on the Thai-Burma Railways, also called the Death Railway. You will experience a ride on an old, antique train crossing wooden viaducts along the Kwai River with stunning scenery. Beside that visit other interesting historical sites, like the famous Bridge on the River Kwai.
Available as a private tour, minimum 2 persons, daily from/to Bangkok
After an early breakfast you are picked up by our local tour guide and driver from the hotel in Bangkok at time 07.00. Drive to Kanchanaburi, located approx. 130 km to the west of Bangkok.
About 2 hours later arrive at the legendary Bridge over the River Kwai, which was an important battle ground during World War II.
The JEATH Museum and and a war cemetery belong also to this historic site. Approx. 9000 allied soldiers (prisoners of war) lost their lives while building the bridge and the so called Death Railway.
Afterwards start for an interesting train ride on the so called Death Railway, passing the wooden viaducts and some breathtaking scenery along the river. The train ride does end near the Krasae Cave.
Lunch break will be at a local restaurant on the banks of the River Kwai. Then return to the capital and you will be back at the hotel in the late afternoon.
