Chiang Mai - Mae Taeng - Thai Elephant Home - Chiang Mai

Daily departure from/to Chiang Mai, minimum 2 persons, group tour

DAY 1 CHIANG MAI - MAE TAENG - THAI ELEPHANT HOME L/D

Pick up from the hotel in Chiang Mai early morning between 07:30-08:00. Drive for approx. one hour to the north until reach the Mae Taeng Valley. Upon arrival you will change into traditional northern style clothing and receive a briefing on elephants, during which you learn the basic words for controlling your elephant. Then you will feed the elephant with sugar cane to become familiar with your new friend. After practicing how to get on and off your elephant, you will ride up into the wilderness and have lunch there. Visit the natural black mud spa to play in the mud with the elephants. The mud is very good for your skin as well as the elephant's, so enjoy! After getting muddy you and your elephant want to take a bath in the river. Wash your elephant and have fun swimming! Then return to Thai Elephant Home. Time to relax. Dinner is a traditional mahout B-B-Q of meat roasted over a charcoal along with sticky rice you help prepare and cook in bamboo over the fire. Say good night to the elephants a bit later while you feed them grass. Overnight.

DAY 2 THAI ELEPHANT HOME - MAE TAENG - CHIANG MAI B/L

Early morning visit the elephants to clean up their areas before feeding them. After breakfast learn more elephant commands and practice using them. Ride your elephant along jungle paths to the top of a mountain and enjoy lunch out here. Ride back down the mountain to the river, where you can bath your elephant. Return to Thai Elephant Home and take a shower. Enjoy freshly cut fruit and experience an optional Thai Herbal Spa for your hands and feet. Say a final goodbye to your elephant before returning to Chiang Mai in the late afternoon. Transfer to the booked hotel. End of service.

REMARKS/FLEXIBILITY:

• We do recommend to bring sun glasses, sun block lotion, insect spray, sandals, flip-flops or water shoes.
• There is also a package for a single day available, as well as for 3-4 days.
• Accommodation in Chiang Mai before and/or after this package can be booked with us also.
